DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING PROGRAMS

You will find many a program advertising itself as being useful for digital scrapbooking. Some of them can be very limiting, which is why I suggest using Photoshop Elements (PSE). It does have a bit of a learning curve, but you will find many tutorials and how-to videos using PSE. This program will allow you to use any graphics — you’re not limited to what comes with the program or required to purchase from a limited company selection as with some programs. You can purchase PSE at Costco bundled with some great how-to digi scrap software by Linda Sattgast at Scrapper’s Guide. I started digital scrapbooking with PSE.

If you’re more advanced, you’ll find that Photoshop has some options that are not available in PSE. If you’re ready for another learning curve (and can afford the program), I’d definitely suggest this program for advanced learners.

If you’re interested in scrapbooking on your computer, but choosing the right program, purchasing kits, downloading files, unzipping folders, and organizing all your fun stuff seems too overwhelming, you may want to give online scrapbooking through ScrapBlog a try. You purchase credits that allow you to buy digital scrapbook products from a variety of designers (and they just received licensing from Disney!). ,But you don’t have to do any downloading (in fact, you can’t download anything) — they keep everything in your account on their site. They also provide their very own program for you to use, so you don’t have to buy any software. My digital scrapbook products, as well as many others from Scrap Orchard, will soon be available on this site. ScrapBlog is definitely worth looking into if you want to go a simpler route.
