I’m a little late with this. Ya’ll should have had it on Friday but I’m running a few days late so you have it on Monday instead. I did this template based on my LO with Suzy’s kit Roughin’ It. I have never been camping but the kit is so versatile I was still able to use it. There are some really cute elements in it! You can pick up Roughin’ It at Polka Dot Plum.

Just click on the template for the download link. Thanks!

Treat Topper Project (Free template!)

October 9th, 2009 suzysqts 2 comments

Fall has definitely showed it’s face in my part of the world. With the cooler air, have come thoughts about Halloween and planning for treats and school parties. I enjoy packaging treats for the kids and school functions in fun ways.

One fun way I have found are treat bag toppers, based on packaging of lots of things that you buy every day! When stapled over the top of a zip top sandwich bag, these toppers make a cute, inexpensive way to dress up treats

Here is a Halloween one I am using to give treats out. I put this one together using Suzy’s Halloween kit Too Cute To Spook
Photobucket

Our kids don’t get to have Halloween Parties at school, but rather they have Fall Parties, so I used Suzy’s Fallin’ Into Fun Kit for this one for school parties.

Want to make your own treat toppers? Download a very simple template HERE.

All you have to do is decorate the first side, rotate the canvas 180 degrees and decorate the second side. It is important that if you are using global light shadows,  you merge all the layers of one side before rotating to work on the second side because your shadows will change when you rotate. After you have created the topper, print it and trim it. If you cut along the edge of your design the topper with be a perfect fit for sandwich and snack sized bags. Fold the topper in half and staple over the top of the the bag.

These toppers are perfect for Trick or Treaters, school parties, birthday party goody bags and many other things!!

October Scrap Mix Challenge!!!

October 2nd, 2009 suzysqts 3 comments

Hey everyone! I’m back with this month’s scrap challenge. Play along, and you could win a $10 GC to Suzy’s store. Who wouldn’t want that, right? And it just so happens that we have a winner from last month! So Lorry email Suzy at sqscrapps at googlemail dot com to claim your prize. Check out Lorry’s LO! Fabulous, right?

Now it’s our turn to win $10 to SuzyQ’s store! This is how it works. I will give you the instructions, you create your LO, then come back to THIS POST, leave a comment linking us to your layout. You have until October 31, 11:59 PM EST to complete this challenge.

Instructions

There are 4 categories: Element to be used most, Number of pictures you should use, Main color, and Inspiration

To figure out what your main element should be, take the day you were born, add up the digits until you have a single digit. For example, if I was born on the 29th day, I would do this: 2+9=11, then 1+1=2. My main element is stitching. I was actually born on the 2nd day, so I should use stitching most on my LO. (You can use other elements, but your main element should be most prominent)

To determine how many photos should be on your page, take the number of the month you were born. I was born in the 7th month, so I can only use 1 photo! If you were born in the 10, 11, or 12 month, you add the digits until you get a single digit (ex. the 11th month would be 1+1=2, so you would use two pictures.)

To find out the main color you should use, you add the digits of the year you were born. Example: 1986, 1+9+8+6=24, 2+4=6, my main color should be white (You can use other colors, but again, your main color should be most prominent!).

Category 4 is your age and will determine what you should use as your inspiration.  Take your age, add it until you get a single digit, and have you’ve got your inspiration. I am 23, so 2+2=5. My LO should be about my favorite food. You can use your birthday, or your child’s or whoever’s birthday you want to use. Just have fun and be creative!!!

Here are your categories:

sq_octchallenge

I will be back to post my LO, but go ahead and get started on yours! And remember: Post the link to your LO as a comment so we can see your creations. Any questions, please ask! One lucky winner will receive a $10 GC to SuzyQ’s store. You have until September 30, 11:59 EST to do this challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creations!
