Feeling Competitive?
Yay, it’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a sneak peek. I usually let my team have the fun of posting the peeks, but I stole the post from Amber this week so I can announce a new game/contest, which I’ll get to in a moment. Let’s take a peek at the TWO kits I’m releasing this week (images courtesy of the amazing Amber).
First up, a whimsical collab with a super cool designer:

And then a kit that gave me (and I hope you too!) a glowing heart:

And how about a handful of layouts:

I’m so excited for the full reveal tomorrow!
Who’s ready for the new game/constest? How would you like to win one of my new releases?
Tell me about the Olympics and how they influence you. What are your favorite events? Do you watch the Olympics on TV or the Internet? Have you ever been to the Olympics? Have you ever met an Olympic athlete in real life? How has an Olympic athlete inspired you? What do you think about this year’s theme “With Glowing Hearts,” and how can you use that theme to inspire you in your life? (You don’t have to answer any of these specific questions — they’re just to help jumpstart your response.)
Leave your comment on the blog and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win one of this week’s new releases from SuzyQ Scraps. Want more chances to win? Share this post on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter, then come back here and leave another comment letting me know where you shared it. Comments must be posted by 9 pm Eastern tonight. Winner will be announced on the blog tomorrow!
I’m looking forward to your comments and hearing about how the Olympics impact your life. Have a happy Thursday!

I am looking forward to the olympics! The winter games are my favorite, because I love to watch skating. I really love the opening ceremonies and can’t wait to see what they do. Love your sneak peeks!
I love the Olympics! I remember growing up in southern arizona I was always facinated by the ice skating. How could they do that!?? on ICE???? It was unimaginable. I loved it. I wanted to dance like that. I wanted to glide across the ice like a swan. On another note I am super excited for the new kits! They look super cute!
I shared on FB!
Love the Sneeks! Can’t wait to see the whole kits!
Wow – an Olympics kit! The Olympics are HUGE in my house. My husband and I watch both summer & winter games. This year, we’re going to an Opening Ceremony party. We really get into the games. I get wrapped up in the “interest” stories about how the kids (they are all kids to me) make it and how their families support them. I’m always inspired by not only the athletes, but the families. How they sacrifice for this common goal. We’re really looking forward to watching them with our sun. He LOVED the swimming in the Summer games and I can’t wait to see how he reacts to the skiing and skating. Thanks for putting this together. This is another one of those kits I didn’t think I needed until I saw it. Now, I can’t wait!

these look fantastic… but all your stuff is great!
I love the winter olympics, my earliest memory of them was the Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, where they had a wolf sort of yodelling! Loved that then. It was also the year that Torvill and Dean won the ice-dancing hands down. And I just love the ice dancing still do, although I have never since felt the magic I felt watching Sarajevo since.
This year will be the first year, my boys (5 and 4) get to watch it, they love Mario and sonic on the Wii, so I can’t wait to show them the real thing! It will be interesting to see, what they love the most, although the time difference from Germany to Canada might spoil it a bit!
Thanks for the chance to win one of your new kits they both look awesome
Hugs
Kerri
PS: love your contribution to the Daily Digi Files this month
I don’t watch the Olympics as much but when I do manage to catch part of it on TV, I love watching the ice skating.
The kits look fabulous. Can’t wait to see the entire kit.
I RT’ed on Twitter!

I love the Olympics! I have three daughters who all inline speed skate competitively and they all dream of eventually switching to ice speed skating and competing in the Olympics. We love to watch all of the athletes and enjoy all of the “human interest” stories that come along. This year will be extra fun because several of the speed skaters competing got their start right along side us on the inline circuit. One of our favorites for this year is Jilleanne Rookard. She was one of the first “girls” (she has grown up a lot since then) to help my daughters when we started in the sport 8 years ago.
Your kit looks awesome and I appreciate the opportunity to win it!
I retweeted for you!

my husband & i love the olympics! it became a big family thing over the years. our families get together to watch the opening & closing ceremonies & sometimes we go house to house to watch the different events. i live in utah & remember when the olympics came to SLC. i was in jr high & a big group of us were given tickets to go see the ski jumping. it was so great to see how many people from all around the world came together to support their teams. everyone was so nice & friendly. i still have NO idea how ice skaters do what they do
your kits look fabulous, as usual! thanks for the chance.
i posted it on FB too
I love watching the Olympics. I think all the ice skating events are my favorite. I hope to watch a lot of the events with my children this year. I just think it’s amazing how much the competitor’s put into their training. The opening and closing cermonies are always amazing as well!
I love the Olympics, both summer and winter, but winter have more interesting sports. One I really enjoy – and that you really don’t see that much on TV other than during the Olympics (at least here in Sweden) – is curling. Once you understand the rules, it’s really great to watch.
This year for the Olympics I’ve bought lots of yarn, and I plan to knit my way through the games. Found a great charity for kids in Latvia that I’m going to knit stuff for. Socks, sweaters, mittens, hats, whatever. I’m going to fill a box and send to needing kids.
Hi!
I watch the Olympics here in Portugal. We have a couple of medal winners: Vanessa Fernandes, Naide Gomes, Francis Obikwelu, Nelson Évora, Rui Silva, Rosa Mota,…
I like to watch 100 m velocity, the swimmers and gymnastics. I like ice skating too.
We would always watch the Olympics at the lake in the winter. Our beds were pulled into the living room to be near the fireplace and we would watch the Olympics in bed in our pajamas. One year my brother and I built a “luge” run from the top of the driveway to the lake. It wound around corners and over bumps. We iced it over and kept it groomed all winter. The Olympics are so wonderful for inspiring people to get out and get active!
I’ve always loved watching the Winter Olympics! Figure skating is my favorite, but I love watching all of the coverage (well…except hockey – for some reason, I never got into hockey.) & I love hearing all of the stories behind the athletes. And it’s great, ’cause for a couple of weeks, there’s always something good to watch on TV!!
Can’t wait to see the new kits!
LOVE the Red Riding Hood peek…too cute! And the Olympic kit…woot…love the Olympics, and I am so looking forward to them starting up this month! I’m not generally a fan of the ceremonies themselves, but I love the competitions. During the Winter Games, I generally watch everything except ice hockey. I love the skiing and skating…and even curling has become somewhat fun to watch, although I’ll admit I had never heard of it about ten years ago. I enjoy the Summer Games as well, but I don’t watch as much of them…I like the swimming, diving, and gymnastics competitions. Thanks a bunch for being such a generous spirit…thanks for the chance to win
I just shared the contest on Facebook…LOL, I should join Twitter just for this sort of thing!
Living within an hour of Vancouver, the Olympics are a very big deal here. The outlying areas are providing practice ice for the hockey teams. Nearby us will be the Russian hockey team. The torch arrives in our community this Sunday. I can hardly wait! My favourite events are curling, speed skating (long and short track), snowboard events and aerial jumping events. Let the games begin!!
I’m SOOO excited about the Olympics. I live in the ‘burbs of Vancouver and each day it gets more exciting. I love all of the winter events. Of course here in Canada, we’re nuts about hockey, so that’s on the top of my list. My father was born in Norway so when the winter Olympics were there in the 90’s I had two countries to cheer for! (I always cheer for Norway anyway.) In the Seoul summer Olympics in 1988 my niece won a bronze medal for swimming. We come from a pretty sports nuts family so the Olympics are always a family event which entails lots of get-togethers. I even scrapped a couple pages showing the torch relay and would love to do more! The only trouble is, it’s close to 60 degrees here, a beautiful sunny day – we had the warmest January on record! Good thing for snowmaking machines as the mountain closest to Vancouver needs more snow! Here’s my blog to show two pages I’ve done for the Olympics: http://scrapawhileatstudio4.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the opportunity!
This is fun Suzy! I don’t get to win, but I want to share my experiences w/ Olympic athletes. Though I’ve never met any winter athletes, I’ve met many summer ones! (all volleyball players/coaches of course!) When I was really young, I met Lori Endicott, and got her signature…I was so excited about that!!! Then I’ve met multiple men’s olympic players, one in particular, Ryan Millar, actually STAYED AT MY HOUSE for a week or so. He would jump on the trampoline with us and bounce us way high! I went to multiple volleyball camps with him when I was younger as well..And what are the chances of this…but my cousin (who is practically my brother) married a girl who’s sister is married to Ryan (did you follow?! lol) So that was pretty cool. It was fun to watch the men win the Olympics in ‘08, especially knowing some of the players. I love the olympics though! Always get excited about them! (honestly more summer than winter…but they’re both fun!)
The saying ~thrill of victory and agony of defeat~ really sums up the Olympics for me…I love watching the athletes push themselves beyond what even they thought they were capable of…just gives me the chills =)
I’ve always watched the Olympics, from the time I was a little girl. I used to dream of being an Olympic figure skater or gymnast. I vividly remember watching the 1996 Atlanta games when the U.S. women’s gymnastics team won team gold for the first time. I was sooo excited! Needless to say, my favorite winter Olympics event is women’s figure skating, and I plan to watch with my daughter this year. I’m hoping we can start our own little tradition of watching together every year.
Just RT’d on twitter!
Very cute sneaks!
Loved the sneak peaks…can’t wait to see the reveal! I’ve never been to the Olympics. I like to watch the figure skating.
oh, i missed this first game
but no worries, will be looking out for another one
love to have a new game in the blog.
Wow, it’s been so much fun to read all your different traditions associated with the Olympics, and to hear some of your stories.
Figure skating has always been my favorite winter sport … and gymnastics & volleyball for summer. Thank you so much for playing along!
