As I create more & more simple scrapbook pages with a big emphasis on the photos & words, I am more & more interested in improving my photography skills.
‘Cause honestly, they’re not that great. Some photos are amazing. Most are so-so. And because I don’t feel confident behind my camera, I sometimes don’t even snap the photos. (Gasp!)
I want to do more to improve my photography. Do you?
The amazing photographer Katrina Kennedy shared 7 Tips for Better Everyday Photographs (with Any Camera) in a guest blog post last year — like finding great light & changing your perspective.
Can you imagine how different your photography might be (& your confidence as you take photos) 7 months from now if you focused on just one tip per month?
Katrina shares several simple edits in another guest post, 7 simple edits for everyday photographs — like straightening your horizon & reducing noise.
Again, focusing on just ONE tip each month could significantly impact not just your photos but your confidence too (and greater confidence will lead to better photos).
Pinterest is a terrific resource for finding great photography tips, tutorials, & ideas. I’d love to share what I’ve been pinning with you. Will you follow my photography Pinterest board?
I love how much I can learn from all the free resources available on the Internet — but there’s nothing quite like learning from a professional. Especially one you trust. I’ve met Katrina Kennedy in real life. I’ve seen the results her students achieve. And I think she’s a great teacher. You’ll find lots of amazing free resources on her site, including photo ideas and even a photography podcast. Give one of her classes a try, like her upcoming Your Life: Captured Through the Lens, which will help you get off auto and into manual mode.
I’m actively working to improve my photography this year, so I’d love to hear your ideas too! Will you share them with me?
