I asked my creative team to share something about their layout creations as they played with the Be{you}tiful digital scrapbook kit. I hope their tips help you in scrapbooking your pages and sharing your stories.

Template tip from Bre, aka bre11414: “When using templates, if there are multiple spots for photos, and I only want to use one photo, I’ll either clip a paper to it and use it for a journaling spot, or in the case of this layout, I replaced it with the “Be You” wordart. Because the wordart was a little smaller than the photo was supposed to be, I layered it on top of one of the journal cards to make it about the right size.”

Page design tip from Anastasia, aka stasianary: “My photos were a little dark for the bright colors of this kit, so I added a photo treatment that I created myself to match them better. I originally was just going to include the photo where my daughter has her hands on the top of the hat and she is smiling, but I felt like the other photo, with the hat down over her eyes, helped tell the story better. I included the striped paper on both the top & the bottom to help balance the layout out.”

Photo tip from Kimberley, aka greenmother: “Although poorly composed and very dark, I love this photo of my daughter. By layering photo treatments and cropping close to her face, I was able to scrap her happy smile without it getting lost to all of the dark and distracting background.”

Page design tip from Amber, aka amber565: “The slightly diagonal page design helps to keep the eye moving down and across the page. The opposite page (not shown) contains my journaling which is very personal & intense. By adding a creamy black & white effect to the pictures I was able to mimic the dramatic tone of my journaling with my photos.”

Template tip from Britanee, aka britaneejean: “This was a free template by Scrapping with Liz. I loved it but it was a little too much for the photo (which was also square instead of rectangle). I resized all of the layers and moved them all up slightly. Then I added the picture first (something I never do) & moved things around until I liked how it looked.”

Page design tip from Lori, aka lwentkie: “I knew the minute I saw the word strips in this kit that I wanted to use the “Share Your Sparkle” strip. I went off from there and found this photo of my niece where I just loved her smile that makes her sparkle! I also loved the circles and dots in the kit, so I incorporated multiple items using them.”
