Scrap Your Challenges

Hi everyone!  Meg here with this month’s challenge!

If there’s anything I’ve learned in this life, it’s that we all have our struggles.  What amazes me though is that so often we are ashamed to share them with others.  This is a shame, because if we did, we might learn something from one another, and help each other to conquer our struggles and fears.

That’s why this month we are asking you to scrap about a struggle in your life.  This can range from a bad habit to something you’ve been struggling with since your childhood.  Anything you feel comfortable with sharing, we would love to see what sort of layout you can come up with!

Here are your guidelines:

  • Scrap a layout about something you struggle with.
  • Focus on journaling in your layout – share at least 10 lines with us.
  • Photos do not have to be included in your layout.
  • Use predominantly dark or bold colors.
  • Use a repetitive theme — same element throughout the layout, repetitive language in journaling, etc.

Prefer hybrid? Here’s the hybrid twist on the challenge:

  • Create a journal for recording your feeling, struggles, and emotions. (Check out one of Suzy’s latest posts for a tutorial on how to create a hybrid notebook.)

You have until April 30th at 11:59 PM EST to enter your layout or journal.   Simply leave us a comment with a link to your creation. And remember, everyone who participates will receive a 25% off coupon to SuzyQ Scraps’ store … and one winner will receive a $10 coupon.

Happy scrapping!

P.S. Suzy is out of town this week, so she’ll be choosing the winner from last month’s challenge when she gets back.

This challenge is very interesting and … well … challenging. You are right that we usually don’t want to tackle those big questions about something that we may find hard in life and that is precisely when we should confront our inner monsters. I’m going to tackle my LO tonight. If I happen to win a coupon, that will be icing on the cake. What is more important is that I face head-on the big questions that I have been struggling with.

Hi, saw this challenge at facebook. Thought it would be nice to enter. Hope I’ve done it okay!!
The lo is called A part of my life and it’s about me and my sister being happy at that age. A few years later live changed due to the divorce of our parents. Things never where the same again, so that’s still bothers me sometimes.

This definitely makes you step outside the comfort zone when it comes to sharing your personal struggles. I am not one for journaling and so my LO is short but to the point and I am sure there are many who’ll see it and relate rather than judge. Thank you for the challenge and the chance to win :)

Hi! Here is my layout for the challenge. Our “challenge” is dealing with the loss of our two good pets within a couple of months. We miss them every day. I used Suzy’s Going Green kit, which can make good “non-green” layouts too!
