looks like a super cute kit!
Looks great!
My comment is that I’m truly thankful that my family hasn’t had to deal with lprolonged sickness or serious injury. My heart goes out to those that have had or currently have sick children.
Kit looks fun for all those bumps, bruises and sprains that come with growing up. Can wait to see it all.
My husband and I were relaxing in our lawn chairs Friday of the July Fourth weekend–one of those few times we were not on the run. We both saw a flash running by our fence, followed by our frantic neighbor running and asthmatically calling to his dog to come back. Without thinking, I ran through the house in an effort to cut him off (the dog) at our driveway on the other side of the house. Unfortunately, my foot caught the edge of the overly high driveway, leaving sprawled face down on the pavement with the wandering dog licking my face. Nevertheless, I thought I was alright. At least until the foot and ankle started swelling. But our social calendar was so full that weekend, my husband insisted that I’d just twisted the ankle and that I was fine. Since he’s a jock, I believed him, while observing that my foot and ankle were now, not only swollen, but black and blue (heavy on the black). When I did go to the doctor on Tuesday, she just about bust a gut she laughed so hard at my gullibility because, as it turns out, I had broken the leg in two places and wore a cast for what seemed at that time the major part of my youth.
Oh, that is a fantastic sneek! Perfect for some recent pics at our house…my 4 yr old was bouncing on my bed, fell off, and broke her wrist. She spent about 3 weeks in a cast, but thankfully is all better now.
Ohhh… this is a fantastic sneek peek .. can’t wait to see what the release will be… but it looks awesome just in the sneek
The most serious injury in my family was a broken arm of my daughter. But as she was only five years old it only took three weeks until the arm was ok again.
Suzy!!!! cant wait to see this kit completed!!!!! the sneak peack looks great! baci wendy
Oh, this looks like an adorable kit! My son has been constantly sick since we moved from the United States to Europe. Here in Belgium, it rains ALL THE TIME!! In fact, he’s sick today and home from school. We have to wash the windows every week with bleach just to keep off the mold and mildew (they don’t have double paned windows). He takes after his dad in that he can’t shake an illness very easily and it goes straight to his lungs. He’s been coughing his poor head off all day.
Thanks for the chance to win this kit!
Kit colors look great! 3 out of 4 members of my family (including me) are currently sick with a cold!
My 3 year old was having an earache over the weekend. I was driving (he was in his seat in the back) and I asked him about his ear. We haven’t had ear issues in 2 years so this was odd. Here is the convo:
Me: James, did you do something to your ear?
James: mumble mumble mumble
Me: Sorry honey – what did you say?
James: I said I was messing around.
Me: You were messing around? With what? (fearing some sort of pencil, etc)
James: The water fountain
Me: The water fountain?
James: Yes
Me: You were messing around and squirted water in your ear?
James: Yeah, and now I can hear it in my head.
I love toddlers.
Ooohhh…we’ve had a few hospital trips in our lifetime!! This kit is adorable and would be very cute for some of our mishaps!!
Luckily for us, they have been very few and far between (especially since our 10 year old is somewhat of a daredevil)!
My “owie” story is that on the day before Christmas Eve, my husband had to go in for spinal fusion on his neck. That’s how we spent our Christmas. Our only grand daughter out of 5 grandchildren had a birthday on Jan 4 and he couldn’t make it. I’ve attached a link to a 27 second video of my poor hubby singing happy birthday to Lacie.
Just will break your heart! “)

this looks like such a fun kit! the worst experience for me was when my newborn baby girl had to go back into the hospital after only a few days because of her jaundice. not a big deal now but it was then for me! we stayed 36 hours with her under the billi lights the entire time. since she’s also my first child, i was traumatized & very emotional! i can already see LOs using the billi light pictures with this kit. thanks for the chance!
and i posted it on FB.
My daughter stopped growing at 6 months. Our doc sent us home for a week to feed her to try and gain weight. She lost weight. She was admitted to the hospital, was poked and prodded for many tests, and they weren’t sure what was the matter. After 30 needle pricks for tests and IVs (including one in her head), they life flighted her to Primary Children’s. I did feel very relieved at Primary’s because they take care of kids a lot. After more tests and ultrasounds, they found out she has 4 ureters instead of two, and since the extra ones attach in the wrong place they were allowing the urine to reflux back toward the kidneys causing UTIs. She was put on medication to prevent the UTIs.
Now she is 3 and healthy like a regular child. One side has healed on its own, so that it doesn’t reflux at all. If the other side doesn’t heal, then we might have to do a simple operation to fix it, but things are going great!
I tweeted this for you. Looks fun!
I also have posted it & shared it on facebook!
I was out of town to help my Mom after her surgery and for the first time had left our son with hubby for week. On the way home at the end of the week I got a call from Hubby that he thought our 2 year old needed to go the immediate care center because he got his finger shut in a steal door. I met them at the immediate care center and x-rays confirmed it was broken. When the doctor asked my so what happened he told them “Daddy did it”!
Annnnnd I just got back from leaving a comment at Jady Day’s blog! So count me in for 3 “)
I love both yours & Jadys designs so I know this collab will be super.
When my oldest son was 7 he was struck by a pick-up truck while attempting to get his Grandma & Grandpa’s mail for them. This was on an old country road with the mailbox across the road. I was watching him but the pick-up truck seemed to come out of no where.
Of course I definitely lost it & had quite an adrenalin rush. Started screaming trying to get the attention of my other family members inside my parents house. I attempted to bang on the storm door & ending up breaking the glass.
We were fortunate in the long run… my son only ended up with many bruises along with a broken arm. He also needed 20 stitches above his eye where his glasses cut into his face.
We thank God for this outcome everyday as our son is such a wonderful person that we are so very proud of.
So cute! I can’t wait to see the whole thing. This would be great for the pics of my son when he broke his arm and I have some pics from my sister’s graduation from Med school.
My son scared me to death on Monday. The school called and said a fence had fallen on him and they were afraid his leg was broken. It turned out to be a spiral fracture that might need surgery. Luckily, after spending all day at the children’s hospital, surgery was not needed. WHEW!
as soon as i seen the ouch, i knew what pictures i could use. When my 2nd son was 8 years old he broke his leg riding on the back of a quad with his papa…. they hit a bump and he shifted in his seat and his leg ended up under the tire. He lost his shoe and jumped off and started looking for his shoe. When he got back to the house i had to take him to the emergency….. Broken in 3 spots…. he ended up spending the first 2 months of grade 3 in a cast. Any chance there’s a green cast in that kit lol.
What a cute kit!
My ouch story would be when I yet again hit my left pinkie toe and dislocated it. I popped it back in out of reflex but not quite it. It swelled up. I made a trip to the ER but they just told me to “buddy tape” it and all will be better. Umm…if it’s not quite back in place, it will not get better. So I called up the podiatrist that helped me last time. He got me in that afternoon. The only obstacle we encountered was that I was 6-7 weeks pregnant. He had to call my OB to get the ok for numbing meds. No x-ray so he had to guess how far it was out. It all ended well because he was able to get it back in place. I spent the next few days off my feet as much as possible.
Fortunately for us, my son rarely gets sick or gets injured. I’m knocking on wood for that. It’s usually me….unfortunately
I’ve never tried the digital scrapbooking but I’m intriqued so please enter me into your drawing. Injury story. Wow. Which one to share. Which one to share. OK…last spring my husband broke his right foot. He has no idea how he did it. The day after he had all the x-rays and got his little cute blue boot to wear I dropped a frozen turkey on my foot and broke mine as well. It was ridiculous. For several months we both hobbled around wearing matching ugly blue support boots. We got a lot of puzzled looks!
Love this! Fabulous colors and the doodly elements look SOOO cute! I have 6 kiddos – from toddlers through teenagers, so this would be a great addition to my collection!
Looks so cute! This has been the year of injury and illness at our house! Started out with my son slamming head first into my desk and splitting his head open, then he got pink eye, a week later my husband started feeling dizzy and thirsty (still not sure what’s wrong) and ended up with lots of testing then my son got a double ear infection. And this was just January! I have lots of pictures from this year I could scrap with this kit
looks really cute! i´m looking forward to seeing it all
Super cute kit. We haven’t had anything too serious….but a couple surgeries…tonsils, tubes and a cyst removed. Cute kit.
We haven’t had too much injury-wise. About a year ago, when my son was really getting on the move, and climbing on furniture, etc. he always had bruises all over his face-in various stages of healing, and it was pretty funny.
I was about 8 years old and my brother 4 (I don’t know exactly) and we were fighting as sibling normally do. When I called my brother stupid or something like that my dad kicked me in the butt and injured his foot. I laughed so hard…Poor daddy!
This looks like it is going to be super cute!!
My worst experience with an injury would be with my now 4 year old. She has 2 at the time and was figuring out how to climb out of her crib. One night she bailed out and ended up breaking her arm and dislocating her elbow!!! I spent a day in a half in the hospital with her. It took them 4 times to get it set correctly!!! She had to wear a cast for 2 months!!! She still has a little bruise on her elbow!! =( Thanks for the chance to win!!!
We had to take my 4 year old son to the E.R. because he got dehydrated. At first he didnt know what was going on but when the nurse came in to do the IV he freaked out! It took me, my husband and two other nurses to get him to be still. As the nurse was giving him his IV he kept telling her that she was a big meanie and that the hospital was a biggie meanie building that was evil! After we left the hospital it started to snow and he said that the snow made him happy but not the evil building and mean lady!
looks kinda like a boy kit but I know how sneaky some designers are!!! Looks awesome whatever it is
My senior year of high school we went to Medieval Times/Disneyland for Grad Night. While at MT for dinner I noticed that I really wasn’t feeling well. Being a girl and knowing what “time of the month” it was I just figured that my cramps were from that. I didn’t eat much dinner and off we went to Disneyland. While there the pain got worse…to the point where it hurt to walk. I told the chaperones my pains and they started giving me scenarios of what could be wrong. I rode all the way home (4 hours) on the bus and my brother picked me up from my school. The pain was intense and he took me to our grandparents house since our Mom was out of town. To the ER I went after my grandparents saw me. Turns out, I had appendicitis and it ruptured. My brother had to sign all the consent forms for surgery. I was in the hospital for a week and missed all my finals, senior breakfast/checkout, and barely walked for graduation. That was a pain that I would not wish upon anyone…it was waaaaay worse than labor.
an injury you say? we’ll my family had lots of it in the year 2007?
first, my brother had his collar bone broken due to a motorcycle accident. three months later, my parents had a car accident. a month after that, my youngest brother had to go for appendectomy. another month later, i had a motorcycle accident too. what a year really.
but we are grateful that we all still lived.
My sickness turned out not to be a sickness after all and was just resolved today. Two weeks ago I went to have my hearing checked. The audiologist did some tests and discovered there appeared to be a problem not with my hearing, but with the auditory nerve miscommunicating with my brain. I was told I needed an MRI to rule out an acoustic neuroma (a non-cancerous brain tumor.) I had to wait several days for the MRI and than another 9 days for the results. Fortunately, the MRI came back normal. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done for the constant ringing in my ears and difficulty hearing when there is background noise. It’s been a LONG couple of weeks.
So cute hon! Okay, so where to start? lol. My first child was born 2 months premature and in the NICU for a while. He also has had surgery on his cleft pallet and was in the hospital for that. I think there is a novel but unfortunately not enough time to write it all. lol.
My husband was playing softball and decided at the last minute to slide into second. He heard a “snap” and his ankle didn’t feel great, but he got up and was able to put weight on it. He walked off the field and sat on the sideline for the rest of the game, his ankle getting worse as time went on. He was sure he’d just twisted it badly. The next day he wrapped it and borrowed some crutches to hobble around on, all the while insisting that it was just sprained. So finally four days later I talked him into going to the doctor because it wasn’t getting better. The tech took an x-ray and as soon as my husband saw it he knew it was broken. Funny thing is that he’s an x-ray tech himself, but he insisted it wasn’t broken so he hadn’t x-rayed it himself. I had to convince him to go to the doctor and PAY someone else to x-ray it for him to finally convince him it was actually broken!!!!
Any illness with my 8 month old son is dramatic!
The sickest I have ever been was when my son was a few weeks old. I was up all night doing…well, I won’t get graphic…trying to take care of him, not get him sick and nurse! It was terrible.
But, I am very lucky to be in good health most of time. Thanks for the chance to win.
I was filming a game of paintball when I got hit….by a paintball…in the eye!! I had to be rushed to the emergency room where they sent me to an eye doctor. I had a blood clot and had to be on meds for over a week and weekly visits to the eye doctor for a month. I still have to go yearly to make sure no scaring has occured.
Ohhh, I’d love to win this. Having two kids, there’s so many pictures of skinned knees, trips to the ER for stitches, etc.!
My boy is 10 months old and has his first cold/flu. he is so miserable.
Ive been looking for a cute medical kit for a looong time!
Great sneak! I swear my boys trip on air! There’s always a bruise or cut on them (it seems) especially the day before picture day!!! We have school photos with partial black eyes, you name it! One of the worst was the day I had a friend watch my oldest while I was having a little cooking supplies party at my house, they kept warning the boy to stay away from the porch swing, but on no, my boy couldn’t resist it… About an hour into my party they rushed in with my boy, gash under his eyebrow where that swing had nailed him in the brow. A lot of bactine and butterfly strips later he was cleaned up and fine but my poor friend was so upset I’d be mad that the boy gotten hurt. And of course I’d been planning to get portraits done later that week. So it’s forever captured in glossy photos framed in the hall. Kids! Whatcha gonna do with them??
We haven’t had to deal with too many sicknesses. But I had major back surgery last year, plus complications after, and then having 2 boys, there’s always a need for a great medical kit!!
After supper one evening, my husband says “What in the world is wrong with him?”. He was looking at our 18 month old whose one side of his neck was ginormous. He had had a respiratory illness and I’d seen swollen glands before, but – holy cow – I’d never seen anything like that. DH took him to Urgent Care, but they were getting ready to close, so they sent him to the ER where he waited for 4.5 hours and still no sign of seeing a doctor. Apparently, they weren’t excited about it, so he came home and I took him to the doctor the next day who diagnosed him with bilateral ear infections, sinus infection and multiple swollen glands. He started on an antibiotic and within a couple days, the swelling was noticably down and he was feeling better. I got pictures of it because I’d never seen a neck so swollen and I wanted to scrapbook it now that I’m not panicking anymore!
