Happy Monday to everyone!!! Sorry this is being posted today! Life got the better of me!! LOL You ever have one of those days when you think about something all day long, but never remember to do it? It happens to me alot! LOL. Anyways, today I thought we would talk about some recipes, Christmas ones to be exact! At this time of year I love baking!!! I don’t know what happens, but its like as soon as December hits that means its time to start baking until the new year! LOL
This got me thinking. What kind of traditions do you have at this time of year? Do you bake with your children? Do you remember baking with your mom when you were younger? And what is your favorite food that brings the “Christmas” Spirit to you? For me, it is the smell of snickerdoodles!!! I love those cookies and to me they are so easy to bake! I’m in the middle of baking now since I have 7 dozen cookies to bake and package up before Friday!!! I know crazy right? Well, we are shipping homemade cookies to our soldiers who are in Afghanistan!
Alright now to the recipe!
Snickerdoodles
2 3/4 Cup Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup Butter Softened
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Cinnamon Mixture-
1/4 cup sugar
1tsp Cinnamon
Preheat oven at 375 degrees. In a small bowl Stir Flour, baking soday and baking powder Set Aside.
In a Large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
In a seperate bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon
Shape the dough into 1 inch balls rolls them through the cinnamon mixture and place onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11-12 minutes.
Thats it! These are so yummy!!! Now I’m off to make some! LOL Have a good day everyone!!!
