Have you ever saved a layout you’re working on, and not been able to find it later, but you’re SURE you saved it? I know I have. A post in the Scrap Orchard forums last week reminded me of this little trick, and since it was helpful, I thought I’d post it for you too.
Please note, this will only work if your layout was one of the last 10 items you saved in PS (or PSE).
Go to File > Open Recent and look in the list for your file.
And that’s it! I often accidentally save my layout in the wrong folder or with the wrong year, so when I go to look for it later, I can’t find it. But if I use this little trick, I’ll find my layout in a snap. And then I make sure to resave it in the correct place, lol.
Hope this tip is helpful! Next week I’ll show you a neat way (yep, with screen shots!) for recoloring your elements.
Remember to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing at the end of the month. You’ll be entered into the drawing for every post you leave a comment on — so potentially 30 times this month!

Great Tip! I’ve used it often, but wish I could increase the amount of files it stores. Many times I’ve opened too much after saving & the one I’m looking for isn’t there anymore
Great tip! Can’t wait to see the recoloring tips!
I’m forgetful about stuff, so I tend to save anything new to my desktop for organizing later. I get a little bit of clutter on there from time to time, but I don’t lose anything that way, lol. Also – if I do lose something – I use the search function on my computer if I can remember a part of the name. My old operating system (Windows XP) made more sense, lol – and I still stumble through Vista’s way of searching, but I can usually find what I lost with little hassle
But this is an awesome tip too!! Definitely one I’ll use for those moments that I close something accidentally and have to go find it again
Wow thanks for the tip!! Learn something new every day!!
I’m lucky my program always saves in the same folder, but a great tip for those who aren’t as lucky. Can’t wait for your tutorial!
Fantastic Tip!…look forward to the Element Reclouring Tutorial.
I actually knew about this one already but you’re right it really helps and is a huge timesaver!
Great tip! I always save to the same folder, but forget what I named it!
Wonderful tip! I’ll have try out the tip next time I can’t find something. Thanks
