Snippets from SuzyQ

Oh no! I had a big church activity yesterday morning and totally spaced blogging. (I knew I should have scheduled one!) Oops! Since I have today’s Random Rambling post too, I’ll just combine the two, and you can have Random Rambling Snippets from SuzyQ.

First though, just indulge me for a minute as I announce my CT call!

You have until 11/20 to send in those apps! Now back to your regular programming.

So, Snippets from SuzyQ will typically be non-digital-scrapbooking related. And Sunday’s Random Rambling’s will usually be done by one of my QTs, and can be about absolutely anything.

This week I wanted to share a FABULOUS recipe blog. I tried the Sweet ‘n Sour Pork and Orange Chicken recipes a couple of weeks ago for family dinner. (We live on my father-in-law’s ranch, along with 2 of dh’s brothers and their families … they run a rock quarry business. Anyway, once a week we all gather at someone’s house for dinner, and a couple of weeks ago it was my turn to host. Love this tradition!) Anyway, the recipes were DELICIOUS. I served it with brown rice, and I also made up a huge batch of fried rice using a recipe from a family friend. We had absolutely no leftovers, which surprised me. Some had third helpings! Definitely added this blog to my favorites, so I thought I’d pass it on to you too!

Don’t you just love the photos with each recipe? I think the food looks exquisite, which just convinces me that the recipes are awesome too! I plan to make the Pumpkin Brownies next. And that takes care of Saturday’s post.

On to Sunday. It wouldn’t be proper to start out my rambling series with any other topic than the weather, right? It is FRIGID here this morning, and though the forecast is for sunshine, we’ll not be breaking 40 degrees. Time to pull out the extra blankets, haul in some more wood for the fire, and add some layers to my outfits. :)

So, what’s the weather like where you are? Leave me a comment and be entered into a drawing at the end of the month for coupons to my store. AND, since I dropped the ball and double-posted, if you also tell me which recipe you want to try on Blog Chef, I’ll enter your name in again!

I love a good recipe blog, and the one you’ve shared is fabulous! Thanks for sharing it. I think I’m going to have to try that Chili recipe. I have my go-to Chili recipe, but that one just looks so yummy. I think Chili is the perfect food for winter.

Here in Sacramento, California it’s starting to get cold in the mornings. Probably not what most places would consider cold, but for us it is! It’s still fairly warm in the afternoon & evening, but it won’t be too long before those temperatures dip as well.

Website is awesome! So many different ones to try but I think that I might try their Black magic cake recipe- it looks delicious! Thanks for sharing the website!

Oh yummy website….added it to my bloglines, thanks! I am officially hungry now :)

As for weather here in St Louey….chilly & cloudy. Looks like it may try to rain. Yesterday was awesome….in the mid to upper 60′s, sunshiny….lots of folks out working in the yards raking leaves. Not a bad weekend for weather….not at all!

Well Suzy, since we live almost as close as neighbors get out here, you know what my weather is. But, I feel that if we are going to have the cold, then we ought to have some snow with it. What about you?

I’m going for the enchiladas! My grandmother was Mexican and it was hard enough to find proper Mexican food when I lived in the States, but in Denmark? Yeah, right! I have to make it all myself, but I don’t do it nearly enough. yummers!

The weather here is grey, rainy, and hovering in the upper-40s F. A friend just visited me from Stockholm and commented she didn’t think it could get worse than it was there, but Copenhagen has pulled it off. lol I kinda like cold rain, though, as long as I can see it through a window instead of be out in it for too long. ;)
